Well, if you wanted one, apparently you’re going to have to wait. The iPhone 4 is in such demand that pre-sales are stalled on the upcoming smartphone monster. Whether this is due to the overwhelming demand, or product shortages, is not clear at this time, but one thing is for sure, the iPhone 4 is going to be the hottest cell phone this summer – again.
Even with Sprint’s EVO, Verizon’s Droid X and T-Mobile’s Galaxy S, the iPhone remains the target to shoot for. Unconfirmed numbers put up to one million iPhone 4 units on pre-order. While this seems extremely high, AT&T usually activates between 5-7 million iPhones per quarter on new releases. This brings the 1 million mark as a very natural pre-order number.
Overall, it could just be a ‘supply and demand’ tactic by Apple and AT&T to make the phone look more popular that it really is, or it really could just be that good and everyone wants it. Time will tell.
If you were lucky enough to get yours ordered, we’d love to hear from you. If not, let us know how you’ll try and get yours.
